You're all moved in to your new home. But you've noticed a few things that you still have questions about. Here is a list of some of the most common questions we’re asked by homeowners just like you. If you have a question that’s not on the list, please don’t hesitate to call or send us an e-mail. We’d love to hear from you.

+ My smoke alarm keeps beeping.

While all smoke alarms are hard-wired, they also have a battery back-up in case of an electricity outage. When the battery is low, the alarm will beep. Change the battery and your problem should be solved.

+ How do I program my thermostat?

Modern-day thermostats help heat and cool your home efficiently by allowing you to program when you're home and when you're not. Here is a helpful video that shows how to program the Nest thermostat we use in most homes.

+ Where are my water and gas shut-off valves?

In the event of an emergency, it's important to know where your home's water and gas shut-off valves are. Most water shut-off valves are located in the garage, and in some cases near the hot water tank. The gas shut-off valve is located on the gas meter on the exterior of your home.

+ My (kitchen/bathroom/garage/living room outlets are not working.

Have you checked the breaker out in the garage to make sure it did not get tripped on accident? Also, have you checked the GFI on the outlets to make sure it was not tripped? Here is a helpful video that will show you how to check the GFI’s on the outlets.

+ My water is way too hot in my house.

Have you adjusted your water heater? Here is a helpful video that will show you how to adjust your water heater.

+ My (dishwasher/stove/microwave/washer/dryer/etc) appliance is not working.

Most appliances come with a manufacturer's warranty and toll-free customer support line. You'll typically find the toll-free number on the inside panel or on the back of your appliance. You'll want to make sure to jot down your serial and model number as well, as the technician will need this information. Can't find the information you're looking for? + My garage door won't open/shut or it goes half-way up/down and then goes back up/down.

Try checking your sensors to make sure they are lined up and nothing is blocking them. Also make sure nothing is in the way of the door to stop it.

+ I have a warranty claim. What do I do?
